I remember when I first started booking clients, or even planning to book clients, I figured out a way and a strategy for pricing myself and marketing my services that I could take on 2 clients a month and be happy out.
Rent, paid.
Food, bought.
Couple pints at the pub, sorted.
But then I would sit down to actually FIND those clients, and I was like
Because booking clients is a whole other ball game in and of itself (and definitely a conversation for another day).
Booking clients is possible with a lot of leg work, a lot of conversations and listening and marketing and admin time and being seen (all beasts to be conquered for sure).
But today, let’s acknowledge that booking 2 new clients a month can be really difficult without a system, a strategy, and a lot of leg work.
Right?
And after a while in business, you get sick of that feast or famine lifestyle.
It was awesome for your first client.
Even your first few clients.
But there’s a point where you kind of want to be able to project your income a little bit.
You know, at least know that your credit cards will be paid off and you’ll be able to book a ticket home for Mom’s birthday.
And that if you take a couple of days off in the middle of the month, you won’t be frantically, stressfully, oh-my-gosh-I’m-a-failure-and-everyone-hates-me scrambling to get back on track.
To go from a feast or famine mentality to a consistent income mentality, to go from frantically (and let’s be honest, a little disbelievingly) finding clients every month to consistently growing your list, your reach, and your sales, you need a system. A strategy.
You need a plan, girl!
(And you better know I have one… I have MORE than one…. I have so many plans that I’ve never had a client come to me and NOT find a plan with me that she loved and could get behind until it worked for her…. You can check it out here…)
But I’ll give you this warning before you grab it.
The plan is simple. But it’s not easy.
It requires you to show up, every day, even on days when it doesn’t feel like it’s working.
It requires you to detach your sense of worth from whether your strategy is working so that you’re able to optimize it instead of beating yourself up about how much everyone hates you, how you obviously chose the wrong career or business path, and how you’ll probably just fail so you might as well try something new and abandon ship on this strategy.
It requires you to work on your mindset and beliefs as much as your business.
It requires you to do the HEALING work so that you can show up for your business WITHOUT qualm, without doubt, and without fear, while you step more and more into the person and life you always dreamed you’d be and have.
(Yet another thing I have a plan for…. My clients do the personal work AND the business work…)
Because if something’s not working, it simply needs to be optimized.
And that goes for you too, love.
You’re good enough. Your business is good enough. And your clients love you.
To the plan,
